Letter to the BBC; David Starkey

Dear BBC,

I am writing to you in regards to David Starkeys racist remark on Newsnight, which was broadcast live to the viewers. Although some may disagree but David Starkeys retaliation towards the London riots was unprofessional and condemned. His intentions were cynical as he made this statement and it amazes me that a intelligent historian would say such a thing.
I quote him 'the whites have become black' this is such a baseless statement to make not to mention very racist on so many levels.
But the fact that BBC One allowed for this to be broadcasted, allowed someone like him to say what he said is shocking.
According to the BBC rules and regulation, it specifically states that 'we must give therefore balance our presumption of freedom of expression with our responsibilities, for example to respect privacy, to be fair, to avoid unjustifiable offence and to provide appropriate protection for our audiences from harm'.
Yet David Starkey violated this by making a racists remark, which highly caused offense to viewers and members of the public.
To make matters worse, he did not even apologize for what he said. And this needs to happen, David Starkey needs to make a public apology, saying sorry for what he said on Newsnight in relation to the London riots. He needs to make the public aware that it is not acceptable to make such prejudices against people and that society should  not allow such accusations to be stated.
To summarize, a public apology from either the network or David Starkey himself would be very much appreciated.

Animation: CWC Ident

Based on the feedback I have received, the overall outcome of the ident was a success. I can say this because comments such as 'amazing ident, extremely creative. a lot different from others which makes it unique' clearly indicate the individuality of the ident and originality conveyed within the concept.
After doing my self evaluation, I came to the conclusion that everything was done on time and the equipment was ready in time but the disturbance of late arrival of members including myself caused a delay in the project. However, we did manage to complete this before it due time.

The negative aspects of this were the lighting quality and people who watched this have said this too. This was something that we could not manage to fix but we did try by changing the camera several times but the format was not responding so we just continued to film in that quality. The lighting changed due to us filming it on different days but because the concept and creativity is conveyed well, we figured it wouldn't matter that much.

The positive approach to the ident is the concept itself and all the elements that were asked to be included that are: the reflection of style, branding and attitude of the college. Within the limit of 30-60 seconds which it was and all original content.

In conclusion to this, I am very much proud of the success of the outcome and the process of this came together very well. The team work was to our best potential, we all tried hard in participating all our efforts in to this and it payed of well, from the feedback we have received you can tell this.

clay animation

My clay animation is well in pace with the movements of the characters and the music used to fit this. It carries out a dance scene with the two characters present in the video and delivers a well performance in time with the music. The characters are well built and share a resemblance of the famous children's character 'Morph'.

The character 'Morph' has a huge significance with my clay character as he is based of off Morph and built in the exact same way. He was huge success for the Aardman productions in 1976, as Morph helped  establish the Aardman name well across the country as one of the top children's animators.

One of the key strengths of clay animation, is the convenience and accessibility of clay. I's timeless and easy to make, can be done conveniently and can pass of really well if put together good.

Another strength is its endless range and endless creativity. You can essentially create anything with the plasticine, the variety is endless and because it is easy to do so you can produce many many things.

However, it has its limitations; such as, if its not a clean/sharp cut it will show of and the viewers will see this meaning if there are any errors and mistakes, it can be difficult to fix. Even if edited, the chances of these errors showing up are really high
