Mini Doc: Jean Luc Goddard

Jean Luc Goddard, director, writer, editor, actor, producer and a cinematographer of French cinema, was born in Paris on December 3rd, 1990 the second of 4 children.
most famously known for his master film 'breathless (a bout de souffle)' which created a new wave in French cinema. As well as ;vivre sa vie' 'alphaville' 'une etrange aventure de lemmy caution' and 'film socialism'.

                                                                   (Breathless)
These jump cuts in the film Breathless are all systematically cut out and maintain some sort of rhythm.

(Pierre le fou)
The direction on this shows the camera completely static, as it follows the couple we experience the action and the cheeky dialogue ''I'm talking to the audience' from one of the characters.

(Film socialism)
Caught within the vicious montage are occasional shots of comparative tranquillity that are the more lovely for their brevity.

Jean Luc Goddard edits his movies himself which for me work on a sensory level.
It is true that the plot defines a movie but his creative techniques conveyed n his movies result in a successful effective approach. Its is not just his style which I find compelling, it's the substance of his movies too.
