For this I had one subject of focus that I wanted to create an emphasis on. I wanted everything else in the back to be out of focus and for there to be an immediate attention on what had been picked up in focus in the picture. This was to ideally captivate on what I felt had a dominance and convey that in that picture.

Rule of third
Framing within a frame and the rule of third allows concentration on the viewers eye. Not only does it show the subject that is intended within a picture but allows you to focus on other content.
The second and third pictures from above are a prime examples of framing pictures. They show it as a whole so its easier to interpret. The first and fourth images are examples of third rule pictures and they concentrate on one subject more dominantly. Although in its background you can see subjects that are not intended to be there, which makes it natural. However, with the last image both the framing and third rule techniques can be applied.

Frozen motion photography
The ideology of this was to capture the moment of when the water dropped onto the tray (that was filled with food colouring.) It was to have frozen motion of the action and this was something these pictures managed to pick up on.
This was achieved by setting the camera's shutter speed off 1/500 and the ISO of 800.
There is a clear projection in the images above of the actual motion in which we wanted to captivate which makes it a success.

Light orb photography
Using a small LED key ring (attached to the end of a long string) is a prop we used to achieve this. By waving this string in circular motions in the space of a couple of seconds is how created the light orbs.
Setting the camera details of the ISO 100 at 20 or 30 seconds shutter speed.
Marking a circle point helped us to have a consecutive circle in the same place so it would not go out of synch. Creating a fully 360 degree circle gives us a 3 dimensional illusion in which it makes it more visually entertaining.

Insert analysis
The insert in regards to the show that we worked on was based around fashion and its approach on people in daily life. We worked on pre production work, which involved a brainstorm of its context. Which led to us making a questionaire for people to answer, so we could draw up data as to if people would be interested in watching a fashion related insert or not. With the feedback we recieved vast majority of said they would, with a high percentage agreeing it allowed us to then go on and start to progress the insert.
I suggested we do a street fashion video, as it would be relatable to the viewers and have a relevance as its raw content. The idea stopping shoppers and asking them question is/was the aim of this which was a success because we did just that. As a group we came up with the questions that we would, we decided to do questions that would cater all people and would keep the viewers engaged.
I volunteerd to be presenter so I was asking the people questions but I tried not to be too in the video as I was feeling camera shy. I wrote the questionaire analysis, mentioned how beneficial it was to the group, why we did it and the process of it.
We did exceed the time limit by a few seconds but it managed to fit well into the running order so it was not much of an issue. Although we had difficulty getting the video on to the tricaster as it was not the right fit of format for its campatibility, so the editor re exported the video and it then worked on the tricaster.
When in viewing, the outcome of our insert visually was very artisitic in its editing skill and the product overall suceeded in well delivery of content. The insert contained all the right substanced we set out in the pre production.
As a group we worked very well together, we braught different qualities to the production which we worked off. It was refreshing to work with members that were willing to put everything in to making this a sucess. We were organised, persistant and got on exceptionaly well. Our insert was a success.

Based on the feedback we have received from the
questionnaire, it seems that the majority seem to have an interest in fashion
and agree that they would want to see a fashion feature in a TV magazine show.
The questions asked were, ‘do you have an interest in
fashion?’ ‘Would you agree that fashion should be a main topic in a magazine
show?’ and ‘if not, what topic would you prefer?’ and the response boxes were
in yes or no format. Although the last question relating to the second one
required an opinion or comment.
2 out of the 10 people we asked opposed in wanting to
have a fashion feature in a TV magazine show. However, they did seem to have a
keen interest in fashion. In fact it seems as if all the responses we received
said they have an interest in fashion or that it appeals to them. Which shows
us just how a generic subject this is and how it is relative to everyone.
Through the data received we
finalized our decision to do this subject for our insert and to have the
context as relevant to the students of the college as possible. Also to enthuse
the students and bring electivity.
Our target audience is students at the college City of
Westminster as well as the teachers.
