video installation evaluation:

Throughout the whole process of this project, I tried to maintain the prospect of my concept projectively. It was a success in me achieving this as my final product relates back to what I initially had intended.
My concept was to create a double projection, a video installation within a video installation. An inception one could say.
I had a video (which I had recorded in duration of this projects period) on playback on the projector, and had the person that was in the video(initially) reenact the same movements as the video playing. I then decided to add a little twist by insert a mini clip (where I though was in resignation to the song at appropriate times) to add an abstract feel which would surprise the viewers.

Based on the positive feedback that I received I would say it had an impact on the viewers in the way I wanted it too. Some took away different interpretation from it and it found it to be thought provoking(which was my aim.)
I was also told that music was well in synch with the video, which translate my video installation as the lyrics had stated.
'I put a spell on you' was the part where I inserted a clip of myself somewhat doing so, I was using the substance of light to translate 'magic'.
The quality of the footage was intentionally meant to be low and not particularly in HD, as it the feel of my video installation was mean to be dark. But with key elements of lights to help captivate the essence of the mood of the story.
A positive aspect would be how this project allowed me to use content that was accessible. I was able to create a simple piece of art that did not require complicated tools. The video speaks for itself.

One of the negatives of the final product would be, if I could have captured more prominent light and for it to have more of a dominant emphasis. I felt like I should of experimented more with lights, colours I could have projected and to create a more dramatic cinematic appeal.
However, overall I am satisfied with my final product as it covered all the areas of what I think a video installation should cater.
