Job role evaluation:
By sticking to my role as assitant producer, I had the full experience and gave everything in my power that was eligable. I followed instuctions and did what I was told in the booth and on set. My peformance of assitant director was well recieved. However, from the feedback the producer gave me, it gave me the implication that I could have stuck by the producers dissisions more and gave more support to him as his assistant. I would have followed by more to the ideas that I contributed and went out of my way to make things happen.
I felt at the time that I did not have much responsibilities but it was my biggest mistake in believing that because if anything my role was a dominant one. Although, I did run to check around everything was in place, collect all the preproduction work. I made sure all the inserts were on the tricaster in time, filled out the call sheet, did the coundown/timing for inserts or adverts through the floor manager. Evaluated the rehearsals, noted what needed to be improved and give feedback off of that. I even took part as a guest in the show.
I also contributed to the production by creating a insert for the show. Me and the members of my group (Chenai, Tashayna and Doran) created a fashion realted insert. And also starred in the zombie insert movie along side presenter Doran and nearly all the prodcution crew.
I would of have improved my job role by being more on top of things and when asked about completion of certain things, I would always have it done before its due time. I would stick by the producer decisions and being assertive towards him.
Nevertheless, I did thoroughly enjoy my role as assistant director and found the experience enjoyable. I found it to be very high to my taste, in the sense that I would adore to do this again but I would do things differently as I have stated before.
Show evaluation:
Derived from events of the live show for TST(The Student Takeover) I would say it was a success. I can say this because of the finish product itself we have, which accumilates for 30 minutes the required time. With all job roles filled and even shadows, it all came together for the live but not better than the rehearsal run through.
The theme of the show made it easy to work around, the Halloween theme was a straightfoward yet fun theme to apply to the show. It made the set design work easy and the context of the show.
With last minute changes in the show, tension took over the production. It resulted in members taking part agrivating other members rolls as well as theirs. With the shows interest at heart, a few members were interfering with roles that were not theirs. If they were to have stuck by their roles and lisetned to instuctions given it would of improved the live production highly.
The lack of communication with the memebers, is something that was key in this production, it would of have made working together much easier and influenced a better outcome. The manerism of the members of the production is something that was unpleasant to work with, which is why it came to a relief when finished.
Overall, the experience itself is something that was truely eye opening to me. It was something that I have found to be very beneficial to me. The completion of it whole collectively is the most important thing.
